Merry Christmas!

Happy Chanukah!

Josephine has loved celebrating Chanukah this year! It's great to see her so excited about the holidays. We decided to give Jojo a book for each night of Chanukah. She's really enjoyed reading her new books and lighting the candles each night.

Baby Simon!

My newest nephew, Simon Mark, was born on Tuesday! He is a beautiful little boy, and Jenny and Eric welcomed him into their family through adoption. He is a true gift and the answer to Phil's prayers for a baby brother! We got to meet Simon (and his amazing birth mother) for the first time yesterday. Jojo wasn't too sure about her Mommy holding another baby, but she did warm up to him and give him a few kisses! :)

Christmas Tree

We went to get our Christmas tree this past weekend, and Josephine loved helping us pick it out.

She was very willing to help us decorate! She loves talking about the tree. She points and says "tree," "star," and "lights!"

We also gave her an early present: a Little People Nativity set. She loves playing with it! It's fun to see her so excited for Christmas this year!

Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving at my family's house. This was the first Thanksgiving meal that Josephine could eat, and she loved the delicious food that my dad made! There were lots of tears at the table as we talked about how much we miss sweet Pete. His favorite Thanksgiving food was pumpkin pie with whipped cream! :) But we have so much to be thankful for, especially the promise of eternal life and seeing him again some day.

Josephine kept everyone entertained at dinner with her funny faces. This is what she does when she eats something sour (AKA the sour face). She does it by request now, and it's quite funny! :)

First Snow!

We had the first snow fall of the season here, and Josephine loved it! The snow melted after a couple of days, but it was fun to see how fascinated Jojo was. Hopefully this fascination continues because winter is a very long season here!

Wisconsin Trip

We spent this past weekend visiting my sister, her husband, and her kids in Wisconsin. Annie had her fifth baby in October, and we were so excited to meet him. Little Rocco Giovanni Peter is absolutely adorable! He is such a sweet, good baby! We had so much fun hanging out with everyone.

Josephine was fascinated with little Rocco.

She wasn't too sure what to do when he cried, though! :)

Jojo also loved hanging out and playing with the other kids. She got lots of love and attention!

We got to see little Rocco get baptized while we were there, and I am so honored to be his godmother.

Also, Josephine did great in the car! It's about four hours one way, and she is not a big fan of the car. But, we had a good plan in place, and she did awesome on the way down there and the way back!
