Thankful

Last year, we spent Thanksgiving with Ryan's extended family in Chicago. Because I was pregnant, I felt pretty sick and tired. But we were so very thankful. Today we're getting ready to spend Thanksgiving with my side of the family. I'm still tired, but I don't think anyone will be surprised by what we are most thankful for this year:

Four Months Old!

Dear Josephine,
Today you are four months old! You are getting so big, and we can hardly believe that it's already been four months. Here's what you are up to:
  • You got to see snow for the first time today! It really snowed a lot, and you love to look out the window at all the snow.

  • You are so much fun! You love to talk, coo, and laugh. You can really hold a conversation! We were at Babies R Us recently, and you were laughing at everything! A sweet lady came up to us and was watching you laugh. She couldn't get enough of you, and said that you made her day! It was so cute. Your little voice is the best sound in the world!

  • You love to go places, and you really love to be outside. We've had such a warm fall, so you've gone on lots of walks and have spent lots of time outside. Now it's getting colder, so it will be harder to take you out. You love going to stores, and you've been to lots of restaurants. We try to go out to eat together once a week, and you are very good.

  • You seem to be very interested in food, and you watch us when we eat. When we are holding you and drinking something, you hold open your mouth and try to intercept the glass! We were planning on holding off on solids until you are about six months old, but we'll talk to your pediatrician next week at your four month appointment and see what he suggests. While you are still doing great with breastfeeding, you seem like you are close to trying solid foods!

  • You are sleeping better now than you were when we wrote your three month post. Thank God! We had a rough week right after you learned to roll over, but then you started to sleep better. But after that you started a pattern of getting up soon after we put you down (usually after half of an hour to an hour) and getting up a few more times before being out for the night. Sometimes it wasn't so bad, but a couple nights you wouldn't go down for the night until 1 or 2am! It seems like every time we think we have you figured out, you go ahead and change your sleeping patterns to keep us on our toes! But, you've been doing very good the past couple of weeks, and you've even had a few nights were you've slept 10 hours straight! You will wake up a few times during the night, but you put yourself back to sleep after a minute or two, and you don't even cry. So, you're doing pretty good in the sleep department, and we are very happy about that! You sleep in your crib, which is in our bedroom still. This works well for us for now.

  • You are starting to get chubby! You've always been kind of a long, skinny baby, but in the past month or so you've started filling out. It's so cute, and we love your chubby cheeks! Mostly you wear size 0-3 month clothes, but you're starting to wear size 3-6 month. You just started wearing size 2 diapers a few days ago.

  • You are the sweetest, funnest, little baby! We love having you in our lives!

We're so blessed to be your parents, Jojo! We love you so much!
Love,
Mommy and Daddy

Josephine Talking

Jo has been very talkative lately! Here's a cute video of what she has to say. Please ignore my crazy, high-pitched voice! :)

Jo's First Halloween

Josephine's first Halloween was a quiet one. We had planned to go to over to my parent's house for Halloween, but a few of the kids were sick, so we just stayed home. This ended up being fine, since Jo decided not to sleep much the night before, and we were all very tired. Jojo dressed up as a little ladybug, and we handed out candy to trick-or-treaters. She was such a cutie in her costume!
