Dad's 50th Birthday!

My dad turned 50 this month! To celebrate, we threw him a surprise birthday party. It was so much fun! Annie and Steve came home from Wisconsin, and it was wonderful to see them and have the whole family together. Josephine got lots of love and attention! We are so thankful for my dad and everything that he does for his family!

iPhone Pictures

Ryan got me an iPhone for Christmas. He's had a smart phone for a while, and he'd been trying to convince me to get one too. I resisted because I view it as an extravagance, and I didn't want to pay for a data plan. Well, he got me the iPhone as a gift, and I do like it. I especially like using the camera to take pictures of Jo! Here are some of my recent favorites.

Seven Months Old!

Dear Josephine,

Today you are seven months old! You are getting so big, and we can't believe how fast time has gone by! Here's what you are up to:

You are so funny and cute! You love peek-a-boo, playing in your jumperoo, and reading books. You love to go places. You are quickly becoming more mobile. You are so close to crawling! You can scooch all over. You're getting better at sitting up on your own, and you can sit by yourself for short periods of time.

You have such a sweet personality, and we're starting to see a little spunkiness! Uh oh!

You're a good eater! So far, you've liked everything that you've tried. You're also still breastfeeding. We still have to be careful of foods because some foods cause your reflux to flare up. You don't have any teeth, but you're still chewing on everything! You especially love to chew on Sophie!

You still sleep pretty good, but the past few weeks have been a little rough. You've started waking up in the night crying, but you quickly put yourself back to sleep. You'll cry for a few seconds, and then go right back to sleep. Sometimes this happens a few times a night, sometimes it's much more frequent. It doesn't seem to be related to your reflux. At first we thought that maybe you were teething. It got worse for a while, and you also had a slight fever, so we took to the doctor to get your ears looked at. You were fine, so we're not quite sure what was/is going on. It could be teeth, a virus, or just a phase. We don't have to get you in the night, so that's good. However, we definitely wake up, even though you cry for only a few seconds. (Well, Mommy definitely wakes up!) You sleep 11-12 hours a night. You still sleep in your crib in our bedroom, but we're going to be moving you soon, probably this week. Hopefully it will go well!

You wear size 2 diapers, and you are starting to wear size 9 month clothes. You can still wear size 6 month clothes, but most of the pants are too short. You are long and skinny!

You are going to celebrate your first St. Valentine's Day tomorrow! We have so much fun celebrating holidays with you!
