Jojo's First Haircut

We took Josephine to get her hair cut this past weekend. We didn't really want to cut it, but the front was so long and it was always getting in her eyes. We'd keep it back with a clip, but she'd rarely leave it in. So, we decided that cutting the front would be best. We knew that she would probably not like getting her hair cut. She just hates it when anyone messes with her. She also hates to be contained and to have to sit still. But, we really didn't think she'd freak out as badly as she did! It was horrible. They had to have one woman hold her head down while the other woman cut her hair. She screamed like she was being tortured, so there are no cute "first haircut" pictures, which is a bummer.

After Jo calmed down, we went to go do some shopping. She was happy to have a sucker and to be out of the hair cutting place! She's spunky but so cute! :)

State Fair

We took Josephine to the State Fair this past weekend. This was her first trip, and she loved it! It was a little bit cooler out, so that was nice, but it was incredibly crowded. Regardless, we had a great time and Josephine loved it. We can't wait to go back next year!

Ryan's Birthday

Ryan's birthday was the day after sweet Peter's funeral, and neither of us really felt like doing much. We were both too sad to go out. About a week later we finally made it out to one of Ryan's favorite restaurants to have his birthday dinner. It was a beautiful day, so we sat outside. Josephine was so good. She loved watching all the little birds that were looking for food on the ground.

After dinner we went to Ryan's favorite ice cream place. Jojo insisted on eating her ice cream with a spoon instead of licking it from the cone! :)

We had a nice day celebrating Ryan. Happy birthday, sweetie. You're the best husband and daddy!
