Eleven Months Old!

Dear Josephine,

Today you are eleven months old! You are getting to be such a big girl, and we can't believe that you are almost a year old! Here's what you are up to right now:

You love to clap, wave, and you just started to point at things. You love to wave to people that we pass, and whenever someone else claps, you'll clap too! You also love to dance whenever you hear music. You say "Dada" all the time, and you recently started saying "ba" for ball. You are a very happy baby, and you have such a fun personality!

You love to play games with us. You'll play peek-a-boo with anything you can find. You also love to fake us out with food or toys. You'll pretend to hand us something, and, when we reach for it, you'll pull it away and laugh. You think it's so funny!

You still crawl super fast and pull yourself up to standing positions all the time. You can also stand for a few seconds by yourself. You have a little push toy, and you love to push it all over! We know that you're getting closer and closer to walking.

You're still eating lots of different foods. A new favorite this month was fresh pineapple. We went out to Panera this past weekend for lunch. You were hungry, so we got you a kid's meal for the first time. You loved it, and ate most of it! You're also still breast feeding. You're still an excellent sleeper!

You got sick a couple weeks ago, and it was very scary for us. You've never really been sick (besides your reflux and a couple very minor colds). You had a really high fever for about four days, and we had to take you to the doctor twice. They ran some tests, but couldn't tell us why your fever was so high. One doctor tried to convince us that you had a GI bug, but, because you didn't have any of the symptoms, we weren't buying it. So, Mommy did a lot of research and was convinced that you had Roseola. It's characterized by a sudden high fever that lasts for 3-7 days and is followed by a rash. It's also most common in babies your age. Of course, it was never mentioned by either doctor that we saw. So, we waited for the rash to appear to confirm that you did in fact have roseola. After four days of a very high fever, you developed the rash. You had the rash for half a day, and then you were fine. We were so happy that you got better and that you didn't have anything seriously wrong with you. Once again, (the first time was with your reflux), your parents correctly diagnosed you!

You wear size 4 diapers and mostly size 12 month clothes (a few 9 month tops still fit you). You still seem a little small for your age compared to other kids. Your hair is getting longer and thicker, and it's starting to curl out at the ends. It's so cute and makes you look like such a big girl! You have four teeth now! Your top two teeth finally poked through, and it looks like you might be getting another top tooth soon.

You are growing up so fast! You seems like such a little girl and not a baby anymore. This month we transitioned you to a convertible car seat, so you are no longer in the infant seat. You are getting too big, Jojo!

We are so excited to celebrate your first birthday with you next month! We can't believe that it's almost here. We absolutely love every second that we get to spend with you! You bring so much joy to our lives!

We love you so much!
Mommy and Daddy
