Last night was the scariest night by far. She's been making these weird gasping noises (which we told the doctor about), but they started happening much more frequently. We called the on-call doctor and were told to take her to the Children's Hospital ER right away. We did and didn't get home until 3am. They said that her airway sounds fine, and they don't think that she aspirated. They think the sound is from the reflux causing major irritation in the back of her throat by her vocal cords, but they don't think she's having difficulty breathing. They want us to see an ENT (ear, nose, throat specialist). We've already made an appointment to see a Pediatric Gastroenterologist, but they can't get us in until Jan. 31st. We'll have to call on Monday and get another appointment with an ENT specialist.
The ER doctor did up her old medication even more, so I think we're going to go back to that medication. It worked great for the last four months, so we hope with the right dose it will start to work again.
Please pray for Josephine to get better. She's in so much pain at night, and we are all extremely sleep deprived. It's the most horrible thing to have to watch your baby be in pain for so long! We would really appreciate your prayers!
